Tourist Attractions in Khagrachhari

Khagrachari is a hill tract district under the Chittagong division of south-eastern Bangladesh. It is amongst the most picturesque districts of Bangladesh. It has an amazingly beautiful landscape and stunning natural beauty which attracts tourists throughout the year. It is an incredibly beautiful area with hills, small rivers, springs, and flat lands.

Khagrachari has a total area of 2700 sq km. The district is bounded by the Tripura state of India on the north, Chittagong in the south, Rangamati district on the east, and Mizoram state of India on the west.

From the sixth century AD to the 14th century, this area was once ruled by Tripura or Arakan rulers. In the year 1760, the British government took control of this region from the Nawab of Bengal Mir Qasim. Khagrachari Hill District was formed on 7th November 1983.

Khagrachari is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Bangladesh. This region has many beautiful spots for tourists for excursions, trekking, and adventure tourism. Tourists visit this area all year round to enjoy the natural beauty and see the ethnic group's lifestyle in the hills.

Alutila Cave, district council Horticulture Park and Hanging Bridge, Mong King's Palace, Lake of God, Ramgarh forest, Alutila Fountain are some of the main tourist attractions of this district.

Direct roads connect this district with Dhaka and other districts of Chittagong division. From Dhaka, it is about 270 km and takes 6-7 hours. Khagrachari can be reached by train via Chittagong only. The nearest airport is also located in Chittagong. From Chittagong, Khagrachari is about 117 km and takes about 4 hours.
