Rema Kalenga Reserved Forest is a Wildlife Sanctuary and a protected forest in Bangladesh. It is located in Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj district of Sylhet division. It is a dry and evergreen forest and a natural forest land after the Sundarbans in Bangladesh. The size of the Rema Kalenga Reserved Forest is 1795.54 hectares. Rema-Kalenga is one of the natural forest areas of Bangladesh, which has remained in good condition. That’s why the forest is a great tourist attraction.

After entering the forest, you will see an amazing beautiful lake. The surroundings of the lake are so natural that it does not seem to be artificial. It has been made to meet the demand for water for the wild animals. There is a watch tower beside the lake. If you wish, you can go to the tower. Watching the forest from the tower could be another amazing experience. Wherever you see, the impenetrable jungle will be visible only. This sanctuary has 638 species of plants, trees, and leaves.

There are 7 species of amphibians, 18 species of reptiles, and 167 species of birds in this forest. There are 37 species of mammal species too. There are three trails or paths in the forest consisting of half an hour, one hour, and three hours of walking duration. Every trail is beautiful and arranged like a photo.

The lifestyle of the indigenous communities of Bangladesh can also be seen here. Four indigenous communities are living in this Forest. The Tripura community’s few neighborhoods live inside the forest. There are also the residents of the Saontal, Telegu, and Oraon ethnic groups.
