Tourist Attractions in Narail

Narail is amongst the smallest districts in Bangladesh. It is a district of Khulna division of southern Bangladesh. In 1861, Narail subdivision was established under Jessore district. At that time this subdivision was formed in coordination with Narail Sadar, Lohagara and Kaliya sub-districts. On 1 March 1984, Narail was transformed into a district.

Narail is an ancient city of rich cultural heritage. The various music, poetry, and sports of this area significantly contributed to the culture of Bangladesh. The traditional folk songs of this district include Jatragan, Palagan, Kabigan, Jarigan etc. Some of the popular sports in Narail district are boat race, kabaddi, stick box, bull fight, etc. Besides, traditional fairs and festivals are organized in this district regularly. In addition to this excellent heritage and culture, Narail has a spectacular natural beauty. Here are green paddy fields, rivers, and canals. The main rivers of this district are Chitra, Nabaganga, Madhumati, etc. Various species of fish are available in the rivers and canals.
