Rabindranath Tagore's Shilaidaha Kuthibari is full with the memory of the poet Rabindranath Tagore. It is situated in 15 kilometers north of Kushtia town under Kumarkhali upazila at Khorshedpur in Shilaidaha union. 

Rabindranath's grandfather, Prince Dwarkanath Tagore received zamindari in this region in 1807. Later in 1889 Rabindranath Tagore came here as a landlord. Here he managed the zamindari till 1901.

At this time he started writing his famous book Sonar Tari, Chitra, Chaitali, etc. He also started the translation work of Gitanjali at that time.

Since 1958, the Kuthibari of Rabindranath Tagore of Shilaidah has been preserved by the Archeology Department as a glorious memory. After independence of Bangladesh in 1971 it was established as a museum after collecting various art works of Rabindranath Tagore.

The whole building is now open for visitors as a museum. The portraits of Rabindranath Tagore, poet Rabindranath, zamindar Rabindranath, farmer’s friend Rabindranath as well as Rabindranath's picture of different ages are displayed on the ground floor and first floor of the museum. Besides, the museum is decorated with the artworks and his used furniture.

Among other used things of the poet, there are two speedboats named Chanchala and Chopla, Paltun, 8 Vahara Palqi, Wooden Chairs, Tables, Sofa sets, Comfort Chairs etc are placed in the museum. Every day many tourists from home and abrod come here to visit the museum to know various things about the poet Rabindranath Tagore.
