Bangladesh Air Force Museum
Bangladesh Air Force Museum is the museum of Aircrafts. We all have the dream of flying in the sky more or less. Although we cannot fly like the birds in the sky, but now we can fly in the air by the plane. But flying in the airplane is like a dream of most of the people. To fulfill the desire to fly, Bangladesh Air Force has constructed the first Air Force Museum in Bangladesh. The museum a huge open valley covered with green grass. The big wall is on either side. In the middle, there are various types of aircraft, helicopter, radar and other equipment placed for the people to see.
The entry fee to the museum is only 20 taka. Niladri, a store will be found on the left side of the ticket counters, where anyone can buy the souvenir of the Air Force and much more. On the right side, crossing the museum's office, there is a map of the entire museum. At a glance at this map, everyone will know what the whole museum has in.
Looking forward, the eyes will be stuck in the eye catching fountain. Beside the fountain, there is a large-size N-24 transport aircraft, which was first passenger aircraft of Bangladesh. This aircraft made in Russia was later added to the Air Force of Bangladesh. It could carry only 44 Passengers. That time it was used by the then president and prime minister of Bangladesh. By paying only 30 taka, anyone can visit inside the air conditioned whole plane. It has also got placed in memory of several historic moments, including the Dakota Airplane Memorial aircraft.
People of different classes and ages visit this museum regularly. From Monday to Thursday, from 2pm to 8pm and every Friday and Saturday from 10am to 8pm, the museum is open for the public. The museum is closed on Sundays for maintenance.
