Bogra district is an administrative region of the northwestern part of Rajshahi division of Bangladesh.

This area was a part of the ancient Pundravardhana region and the capital of this ancient region Mahasthangarh was situated on the north of this district. According to Mahabharata, Prince of Pundra family, Basudev ruled Pundravardhana in 1280 AD.

Bogra is called the gateway of North Bengal. Many small and medium factories are located in this area. It occupies a prominent place in the history of Bengal.

Because of the sedimentation, Bogra's northern part is the most fertile and promising area in this district. Here jute, paddy, sugarcane, and pulses are cultivated. Because of fertility, sometimes three or more species of crops are grown on the same land in the same year, and this does not reduce the fertility of the land.
