Tourist Attractions in Feni
According to the name of the river Feni, the name of this region is called Feni.
During the administrative reform in 1984, the sub-divisions that were transformed to districts, Feni was one of those. Now, this is a district under Chittagong division. The district has an area of 928.34 sq km. It is bounded by Comilla, Chittagong, Tripura of India and the Bay of Bengal.
Before 1984 it was a subdivision of Noakhali district. The subdivision was formed in 1875 comprising of Mirsharai, Chagalnaya and Amirgaon. The first sub-divisional officer was poet Nabin Chandra Sen. The first sub-divisional office was located at Amirgon. In 1881 the office was shifted to Feni town.
The economy of Feni district mainly depends on agriculture. Due to the flow of some rivers through the region, its agricultural land is very fertile. Many factories nowadays are enriching and elevating the economic and communications system.
The development of Feni district in the education system is worth mentioning. The institutional education system was introduced here in 1884 by opening Feni Model Pilot Primary School. Two years later, it was upgraded to high school in 1886. For the education of women only, Sarladevi Girls' High School was established in 1910, which is now known as Feni Government Girls' High School.
Many historical and archaeological sites are found in this district. Bijoy Singh pond and Chand Gazi mosque are two most popular places of interest in this district.

Directions to Go
Feni is directly connected by road from Dhaka. Direct buses are available daily from Dhaka. The distance is about 134km. It is about three and half hour drive. Train services are also available to Feni from many districts of Bangladesh including Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet.
