The Liberation War Museum is the place that reminds the memory of the Liberation War of Bangladesh. At present it is situated in the Agargaon area of the capital city Dhaka. It was first established in Segunbagicha in 1996. At that time it was located in the middle of the Shilpakala Academy and Press Club. But recently it has been shifted to Agargaon in its building.

In the museum, there are collections of various things from ancient civilization to the liberation of Bangladesh. The collections are displayed in four galleries in such a way that can remind people of the histories from ancient civilization to the liberation war. In the first gallery, there are collections of archaeological remains from the ancient civilization of Bengal.

In the second gallery, there are collections from January 01, 1971, to April 30, 1971. Such as - the 7th March speech of Bangabandhu in 1971 and the interim government formation on April 17 at Baidyanathatala in Meherpur. There is also a special exhibition of sound and light projection in this gallery. Images of Pakistani forces’ barbaric massacre of Bengalis on March 25 also appear in this gallery. Besides, there are images of genocide in the whole country.

The third gallery contains all the memories from May 01 to December 16 during the war period. Memories of victory in the Liberation are in the fourth gallery.
